HOW IT WORKS

Understanding PlaqueX Therapy

What is PlaqueX Therapy?

PlaqueX is an intravenous form of PC that can achieve a significantly higher blood serum concentration than oral forms of PC. It is composed of soybean lecithin and contains a high concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which have been studied for their potential to improve cell membrane integrity, repair, and regeneration. PC is also a precursor to acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter involved in memory formation and retrieval, nerve conduction, and muscle control.

Additionally, PlaqueX has been studied in the context of cardiovascular disease and its effect on many markers of cardiovascular health.

How PlaqueX Therapy Works

PlaqueX has many mechanisms of action as a basic building block of human physiology. One particular mechanism is through its effects on cellular membranes. Every cell in the human body is encapsulated in a plasma membrane, predominantly a phospholipid bilayer, that contains hormone and cellular communication receptors, protein structures for the communication and transportation of nutrients / waste in and out of the cell, and various other structures. This plasma membrane also allows our cells to exocytose (a process of ejecting material from a cell) cellular waste, toxins, and potentially harmful substances.
