Routine Blood Work

Routine blood work includes basic cardiovascular and metabolic markers, hormones, inflammatory markers, basic organ function, and nutrients like iron, vitamin D, and serum B12, and many others.

HOW IT WORKS

Understanding Routine Blood Work

What is Basic Blood Work?

It provides markers of health and overall well-being that aid in conventional diagnosis, disease prognosis, and quality of life assessment.

These markers typically fluctuate throughout the day and can be altered through diet (i.e., fasting vs non-fasting), stress, and many other factors.

Blood is drawn through a vein and sent to a certified Alberta Precision Labs.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Many patients are curious about Routine Blood Work as an integrative option to their care. Explore the top most asked questions.

How should I interpret routine blood work?

It is important to have a medical professional qualified in diagnostic interpretation interpret your laboratory results. In addition, at Radiant Health & Wellness, we assess the whole person. We consider your lab results alongside your unique health history to fully evaluate, address, and monitor your concerns.

Should I fast before my blood work?

This depends on what blood markers we need to assess. If you are unsure if you need to fast for your assessment, please contact a care coordinator at Radiant Health & Wellness.

Do Alberta Health Services cover my labs?

AHS does not cover Naturopathic Doctors; therefore, our patients must pay for the lab work that Naturopathic Doctors requisition. At Radiant Health & Wellness, we draw routine blood work in-house and send it via courier to a certified Alberta Precision Labs site.
