Food Sensitivity Testing
Radiant Health & Wellness offers multiple Food Sensitivity Testing (FST) options to fit each patient’s needs, concerns, and finances.
HOW IT WORKS
Understanding Food Sensitivity Testing
What is FST?
Food Sensitivity Testing is the assessment of potentially inflammatory foods that could be contributing to sub-optimal health or gastrointestinal concerns.
Radiant Health & Wellness offers both an IgG antibody test and a Mediator Release Test (MRT) for those interested in food sensitivities.
What It Tests For
Mediatory Release Test (MRT): We collect the sample through a simple blood draw. Once collected, we measure your white blood cells’ response to food antigens. This captures both antibody and cell-mediated pathways, identifying sensitivities accurately.
IgG Antibody: We collect the sample through a simple blood draw. Once collected, we send it to a lab, where they assess IgG antibody levels to identify potential food sensitivities.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Testing is half of the puzzle; interpretation and assessment complete your health picture.
What’s the difference between food sensitivities and allergies?
Food allergies are IgE-mediated responses that often cause anaphylaxis, hives, and respiratory symptoms (e.g., classic shellfish or peanut allergy). Food sensitivities are either IgG-mediated or cause chronic inflammation through other cell-mediated pathways. Food sensitivities do not cause anaphylaxis; they contribute to a range of other diseases and conditions.
Who should get food sensitivity testing?
Individuals with gastrointestinal concerns, epithelial hyperpermeability (often referred to as “Leaky Gut”), and worsening of other symptoms with specific foods are good candidates for FST assessment.
How is FST performed?
Both IgG and MRT samples are simple blood draws. At Radiant Health & Wellness, our expert clinical team can draw blood in-house and handle all necessary processing before sending it to the laboratory.
What are the downsides of FSTs?
Some IgG tests can lead to clinically significant false-positive results due to epithelial hyperpermeability. MRT assessment does not raise such concerns, and we typically recommend it before considering IgG options.
