ONCOTHERM

Oncothermia is a loco-regional hyperthermia technology that is both safe and effective for treating many localized and metastatic cancers. The EHY-2000 can be used to treat many solid tumors through electro-hyperthermia, increasing the tumors core temperature without damaging surrounding cells, organs, or skin.

HOW IT WORKS

A modulated electric field with a carrier frequency of 13.56 MHz is generated by two active electrodes. Since malignant tissue has higher conductivity than healthy human tissue, the electric field tends to flow predominantly through the malignant tumor tissue inducing a localized “fever” response in the tumor microenvironment (TME).

This can directly treat many cancers as well as augment both standard of care and integrative approaches leading to a more favorable response to treatment.

Oncothermia is not a substitute for conventional care, rather it is an adjunct that can be used safely and effectively in many cancer types.

INDICATIONS

  • Brain cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • Endometrial cancer
  • Cervical cancer
  • Colorectal cancer
  • Liver cancer
  • Stomach cancer
  • Malignant melanomas
  • Esophageal cancer
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Pancreatic carcinomas
  • Head and throat cancers
  • Bone cancer

WHAT IT CAN BE USED FOR

Due to the many indications of this treatment, it is important for each patient’s individual candidacy for the therapy to be evaluated by a qualified healthcare provider. Additionally, it is important for risks and alternatives to be outlined on an individual patient basis, so that they are fully informed before starting a treatment program.

What a treatment session looks like

A typical treatment session ranges from 30 minutes to 1 hour and typically involves pretreatment with conventional care – chemotherapy, radiation, targeted drug therapy, immuno-therapy – or integrative therapies. During the session, the patient will lay in a comfortable position and the probes will be strategically placed to best treat the cancer.
