EUROPEAN MISTLETOE / HELIXOR

European Mistletoe, also known as viscum album extract (VAE), is a safe and effective adjunct to conventional cancer care. Although Mistletoe shows promise in many studies including a phase I clinical trial at Johns Hopkins University, it is not an alternative to conventional care.

Mistletoe is a plant that grows parasitically on pine, oak, elm, and apple trees and based on the host plant, the extract will contain a unique ratio of constituents (like viscotoxins and lectins).

HOW IT WORKS

European Mistletoe works by improving the immune system’s ability to recognize cancer cells, mount a response against them, and have some ability to affect cancerous cells directly. It can be used in conjunction with many chemotherapies, targeted therapies, and immuno-therapies to safely and effectively improve our body’s response to conventional care.

INDICATIONS

Due to Mistletoe’s indication in many cancers at a variety of stages and both prior to conventional intervention initiation or after unsuccessful pretreatment, it is important to have your candidacy for this therapy evaluated by a qualified healthcare professional.

What a treatment session looks like

A typical infusion lasts between 30 minutes and 90 minutes. During the appointment a qualified healthcare professional will access a vein to administer the Helixor (European Mistletoe). At Radiant Health & Wellness we use Health Canada approved equipment and a clean-field technique to minimize risk of infection and complications. Vitals are performed prior to each infusion and patients can relax in one of our comfortable reclining chairs and enjoy complimentary tea and coffee.
